Yes We Can Obama Song by Will.I.Am

Please do not take me posting this on my blog as any indication that I have made up my mind as to who I will be voting for. To be honest, I have done very little research into the presidential elections this year. I just get sick of candidates screaming at each other and trying to tear down each other when what they should be doing is trying to figure out together how to fix things. I think that is why the message of this video touched me so much. I truly believe that if we as a nation come together and believe, have hope, we can change. We can make our nation rise and be the nation that God and the founders of our nation believed we could be. I guess I hope by posting this here, while I may or may not end up supporting Obama, the hope for change that he speaks of might grow a little more in each of us so that together we can do something. WE CAN CHANGE!

Ryan that is an awsome video and pegs the way i feel. we do need to come together as a people to solve our own problems as Americans. i have been studing what the candidates have said but i am in the uncomitted corner. i think that some of the candidates have identified that we need change, but they have not to my satisfaction given me how they are going to do it. i have not decided how i am going to help the change happen. i am one but i can help because all good things start with the one. thank you Ryan for posting this and giving me the opportunity to share my feeling.

about your tuff week, your family was certainly challenged but through it all there is that thread that did pull you through and will always pull you through and that is your faith in something higher than your self. the Lord will give us what we need because he loves us. Oscar staying with us is because your family had the faith to believe the best thing would happen. it was an answer to my prayers and a lot of us who were pulling for little Oscar and hopping that he could stay. like You, Tiff and Ali and Charlie we love each of you.

Headster (or Head Head),

I believe that you have already begun to do something. I have the hope and vision I have because it was taught to me very young that somethings are worth fighting for and that is what this is all about. If we accept mediocrity, our lives will be mediocre. If we accept anarcy, our lives will be in upheavel. Martin Luther King Jr once said "The hope of a secure and liviable world lies with disciplined non-conformists who are dedicated to justice, peace and brotherhood." I think the change we need lies in that: that the more of us who fight the norm and dedicate our lives to fighting for these three principles we will find ourselves in a better world.

Now of course if we try to do this without God, there will be no success. I find it no coincidence that the men who have most changed this world for good outside of those specifically called by God where those who had God in mind. I find it no coincidence that Martin Luther King was a reverend. That Ghandi was devout in his faith. Abraham Lincoln recognized the importance of God. These men, my heroes, made a difference, I believe, because of the extra help they had on their side. Yes we can!
