So over the past week I became aware that way more people look at this blog that I had ever imagined (Shout out to my friends in Cali). When you only get a comment or two, it really makes you think that your writing for yourself. I am not complaining because to be honest, I am not great at commenting either. But I need some help and I am hoping that I can use this medium to get some input back.
Yesterday in a staff meeting at my work, my boss was commenting on our generation. He was saying his dad belonged to the generation known as the "greatest generation that ever lived". His question was what would our generation be known as. He suggested that we would be the "gimme" generation: a generation which wants everything but does not want to work or pay for it. A little deep of a thought for a staff meeting but it really got me thinking. I really do not want to be know for that so I decided that I want to do something.
So here is my request: I am looking for ideas on things I can do to better the world I live in. I am not looking for something small that will affect my family only. I am looking for something which I can do on an ongoing basis that will benefit many people or atleast that will get other people involved. If you have any ideas which you have had that you would be willing to share with me, please comment on this post. I would love to hear your ideas. I truly believe that we can live in a better world if we all do something. Please help me figure out what that something is that I can do.

I truly believe that we will never realize the impact we have on others. There may be certain things that define a generation BUT you get to decide what defines who you are.
Living the way you want to live every day is how you will impact others and make a difference. The wonderful things that you have learned from your parents you are teaching your children by example. Live the gospel, share your testimony, work hard, appreciate the good things, be kind. Ryan you do make a difference.
Ryan, I love that you think the way you do. Although our generation may be known for this or that, like Michelle said, it doesn't define the individual.
I hope you find your "project." If you find a good one or need help I'll be there with you. If I think of anything, I will let you know.
Love ya Brother
Do your hometeaching faithfully and really look for what they need (we all need something), smile where ever you go, and play games with your sister on Sundays, she really needs someone to play games with her.
Dude. Think BIG. There is no limit. I had this same thought process last year. My wife, Lyndsay is a certified personal trainer and has a master's degree. I thought hey, I want to really help people so I'm going to become a doctor and we're going to open up a clinic and cater to people who need help getting an active lifestyle. No one will be turned away, including those who cannot afford help as long as they can keep their goals that they set with us.
Our idea goes a lot further than that, but just find what you love to do, and then get on your knees and figure out what the Lord has in store for you! I promise he will open your understanding, for that is what happened to me.
