Today was a great day for our family. We started the day in fasting together. We have been having a lot of fighting between our kids. Last night, as a family, we decided to fast together for extra help to stop the fighting. It was great being unified for this purpose. Each person fasted in their own way. I love the faith of my children.
Church went really well. The "Gospel Solutions..." program I recently posted about had some tips for Sundays. One thing was to prepare for Sunday a la "Saturday is a special day..." so that Sunday mornings can be calmer. We tried it and this morning everyone was ready to go 45 minutes before church. We got there early and it was wonderful to feel calm.
I mentioned previously that this week would result in changes to our ward. You often like to believe that you are prepared for change, but I recognized today that preparedness does not always make change easier to handle. So, it turns out only a small part of our ward was removed and added to another ward. We were not part of that group, however, my entire home teaching route was. Some of our families best friends will no longer be in the ward. Seeing them struggle with it was heartbreaking. We will continue to pray for them and have faith and trust in the Lord's wisdom.
The rest of the day went well. One of my favorite people in the world was called to our new Elders Quorum President, as our old one was in the part moved. We spent the afternoon making treats at my parents and watching the Christmas Devotional. There was a great video shown. If I can figure out how I will post a copy here. It truly was a marvelous blessing of a day.
